About this event

The final chapters of the Mālinīvijayottara preserve an early adaptation of Kaula yoga practices into a framework compatible with Trika theories and practices. Despite the early date of this systematisation, the material assimilated is already surprisingly heterogenous. This talk is intended as an introduction to the problems we are faced with in trying to understand this section of the Mālinīvijayottara and its testimonia.

Somdev Vasudeva is Professor of Indian Philosophy & Professor of Transcultural Studies, in the Department of Indological Studies, at the Faculty of Letters, Kyoto University, Japan.
