Simon Robey

Simon Robey is one of the UK’s leading investment bankers.  Simon began his career as a corporate finance adviser at Lazard Brothers, moving to Morgan Stanley in 1987.  During his 25-year career at Morgan Stanley, Simon held a variety of senior management positions, including Co-Head of Global Mergers and Acquisitions, Global Head of Financial Institutions and Head of Morgan Stanley UK.  In January 2013, Simon joined forces with Sir Simon Robertson as Robertson Robey Associates.

During his career, Simon has acted as lead advisor on over US$1 Trillion of corporate transactions. These have included, amongst others, the USD 188bn defence of Rio Tinto from BHP, the USD70 bn merger of Glaxo Wellcome Plc and SmithKlineBeecham Plc, and advice on the USD 28bn restructuring of BP's interest in Russia.

Simon Robey read English at Oxford University, where he was a choral scholar. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Opera House, Chairman of Aldeburgh Music, and a Governor of the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Ballet.
