This is one of two 15 credit module to offer a survey of statistical techniques for economists and an introduction to working with economic data.
Objectives and learning outcomes of the module
Upon successful completion of this module a student will be able to:
- Obtain economic data and transform them appropriately for analysis
- Use spreadsheets and statistical software to undertake graphical and statistical analysis of economic data
- Demonstrate understanding and ability to use basic descriptive statistic techniques
- Apply the elementary principles of probability and statistical theory
