International Business and Finance

Key information

Module overview

This module is taught as a foundation for entry into a full range of business/management or finance degrees (eg, MBA, MA Marketing, MSc HRM, MSc Finance). The context for study is international business and focuses on the activities of for-profit organisations such as Multi-National Companies and not-for-profit organisations (such as NGOs). The module is adapted to allow students with little or no business background or experience to work alongside students with considerable work experience. As well as providing a general grounding in key qualitative areas of international business, such as organisational management, cross-cultural management, human resource management and marketing, this module aims to cover the basic building blocks of financial management that are of primary concern to corporate managers, and all the considerations needed to make financial decisions both inside and outside firms.
