Important notice

Information concerning the accuracy of this website, and changes or withdrawals to programmes, courses and modules.

The information on the website reflects the intended programme structure against the given academic session. The modules are indicative options of the content students can expect and are/have been previously taught as part of these programmes. SOAS is committed to providing an innovative, inclusive and high-quality curriculum, meaning that we regularly review our modules and programmes to ensure they offer the best possible student experience. Please note that modules need a minimum number of students to run. Should the module not run, current students will be notified of an alternative. We will notify applicants if there are any changes to core or compulsory modules, including cancellations, with details on alternatives.

SOAS's commitment is to an inclusive curriculum reflecting the best practice in learning and teaching. Programmes and modules are amended to reflect developments in the subject area, research, teaching practices and on the basis of student feedback. They are also subject to the availability of specialist staff. As a result of this, the School cannot guarantee that modules/programmes will always be reconsidered in the context of new evidence.

The School is committed to enabling students to undertake any planned years abroad, however, specific destinations may be altered if circumstances change (e.g. the safety of travel to the advertised country). On these occasions, matters are outside of the School’s control and any changes made will be to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students. The School will notify and support the students to identify an alternative option.

The School will update the online programme and module information as soon as possible to reflect the most up to date information. Please do not hesitate to contact the relevant department if you have any questions about the programmes or modules on these pages.

The Student Protection Plan is a document that is approved by the Office for Students (OfS) that every university is required to publish on its website.
