Society for the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (SAFN) It promotes research, communication and practical collaboration among those who have an academic interest in anthropological and socio-cultural aspects of food and nutrition.

Association for the Study of Food and Society [ASFS]
It promotes the interdisciplinary study of food and society and publishes the quarterly journal, Food Culture & Society . It also maintains the very good ASFS mailing list for members, details here . Agriculture, Food, and Human Values Society (AFHVS) Promotes interdisciplinary research and scholarship in the broad areas of agriculture and rural studies. They publish the journals Agriculture and Human Values and Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Ethics

BSA Food/SCOFF (Scottish Colloquium on Food and Feeding) This BSA Study Group aims to encourage the sociological analysis, both theoretical and empirical, of all aspects of food production and consumption.

International Commission on the Anthropology of Food and Nutrition (ICAF) Promotes and coordinates collaboration and research with a multidisciplinary approach to anthropology of food and nutrition.

Research Committee on Sociology of Agriculture and Food RC40 This is one of the research committees of the International Sociological Association , their objective is to promote and encourage scientific analysis of the social organization of agriculture and food systems.

The Food Bibliography This is an on-line, searchable resource providing a growing database of bibliographic materials for researchers in the field of food history and, more generally, food studies.

Oxford Symposium on Food & Cookery An annual conference on food, its culture and its history. It is the oldest and most important gathering on this topic.

BBC Radio 4’s Food programme
This is a weekly programme that investigates all aspects of food. Each week a different topic is illuminated in some depth. Previous programmes are available indefinitely.
