Searchable database of details about books, book chapters and journal articles published in western languages since 1971, covering all countries of Asia, including the countries of South East Asia. Available off-site to SOAS staff and students only using a SOAS id and password.

The Asian Studies WWW monitor

A current awareness bulletin. All resources listed in the "Monitor" are inspected and rated in terms of the scholarly/factual quality and usefulness of their content to the Asian Studies' research. This is a very useful site for assessing new web sites.

Index Islamicus ( off-site access )

This bibliographic database is a useful research tool for information on Southeast Asia and the wider Muslim world. It is much broader in its remit than religious subjects covering a whole range of subjects from economics to literature and all areas with a Muslim population, including Muslim minorities such as Thailand and the Philippines. Available off-site to SOAS staff and students only using a SOAS id and password.

Southeast Asian Serials Index (SASI)

Access to information on Southeast Asia through the indexing of major academic and current affairs journals published in a range of countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Australia, and The Netherlands.

APECLIT: A database of publications about APEC

The Australian APEC Study Centre has compiled APECLIT a bibliography of published materials about APEC. APECLIT will become the single point of reference for all major publications about APEC. Many of the documents are available electronically and where possible hyperlinks are provided to a full text or abstract.
