Abstract

In this engaging panel discussion and performance with Tabla Maestro Pandit Bickram Ghosh, we will hear about music and its impact on the wellness of the mind, shaping critical inquiry during uncertain times.

Awarded the second-highest civilian award Banga Bhushan (West Bengal, India), Pt Bickram Ghosh is a globally acclaimed percussionist and New-age star known for his experimental music. Born to a family of highly acclaimed musicians -- the son and disciple of the great tabla maestro Pandit Shankar Ghosh, his Carnatic training came from Pt S Sekhar.
Bickram has an impressive array of recordings of over a hundred,14 Hindi and Bengali scoring, documentaries, television and acting in five films and has fulfilled ambassadorial roles. A versatile artist who has performed with distinguished Hindustani and Carnatic classical artists such as Pt Ravi Shankar for eleven years, Ustad Ali Akbar Khan, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma and has a following among the country's youth as a pioneer in new-age experimental music.

In this panel conversation, the artist delves into the creation of the Dance of Shiva and the recording of The Ultimate Performer among other bespoke and rare footage.
