Biography
Simran was awarded the Dickson Poon Scholarship to complete her doctoral research in Law at King’s College London. The research explores the need for law to open itself to findings and methods of other disciplines by undertaking a case study of domestic violence within South Asian immigrant community in the UK.
Having completed the Master’s of Law program at SOAS in 2014, Simran taught master’s level courses on “Law and Governance” and “Access to Justice with a Focus on Women’s Rights” at Jindal Global University, Delhi NCR.
Simran has also worked with a research and policy think tank, PRS Legislative Research where she worked on marginality and rights-based approach to development. In particular, she worked on laws related to sexual assaults and compensation; citizenship rights and anti-corruption in India
