Biography

I have a first degree in economics from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) and an MSc in Agri-Environmental Economics from the University of Montepellier I and ENSAM (Ecole Nationale Superieure Agronomique Montpellier) (France). Subsequently, I obtained a PhD in Economics from Imperial College London (at the former Wye Campus). From 2007 and 2014 I was a Research Associate at the Transport Studies Group of the School of Civil and Building Engineering at Loughborough University. I have been an online tutor at CEDEP since 2013. I tutored Environmental Valuation: Theory, Techniques and Applications from 2013 to 2019 (and I also authored the module material). Since 2015 I have been tutoring Economics of Environmental Policy. I also write and mark exams for Natural Resource Economics. Since 2013 I have also supervised about 20 MSc Students for SOAS. In addition to my SOAS work I am also a private consultant.

Research interests

My research and consultancy interests broadly cover transport and environmental economics and policy, in particular the analysis (and economic valuation) of the environmental externalities of travel decisions (in particular climate change, both mitigation and adaptation, air quality and noise). More recently I added to my research and consultancy interest travel to school and cycling. My main methodological expertise is discrete choice modelling and, in general, survey methods.
