Biography

Annabel is a Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Development in the Centre for Development, Environment and Policy. Her interests include sustainable development, sustainable and equitable food systems, gender equality and resource use and management. She also has an interest in pedagogy, particularly pedagogy for sustainable development and interdisciplinary learning.

Annabel has tutored and authored CeDEP modules for 15 years. Prior to directing the MSc Sustainable Development, she held a post as Senior Teaching Fellow in the Centre for Food Policy at City University and worked as an Education Coordinator with the Interdisciplinary Food Systems Teaching and Learning Programme (IFSTAL), a consortium of universities delivering online and face to face courses to postgraduates and professionals across the food sector. Annabel has also worked with the University of Accra, IPB University, Bogor, and Makerere University, Kampala in delivering food systems education and she continues to collaborate with these institutions.
Annabel has researched and taught across a number of themes related to development, environment, agriculture, gendered constructions, political economy and culture of food production and has particular expertise in Latin America and West Africa.
