Speaker: Dr Monika Hinkel
Referencing aspects of the past is a recurring theme in Japanese art. The talk will examine print works by Hiroshige III, Toyohara Kunichika and Kawakami Sumio, to showcase how and why these artists visualised nostalgic recollections of different periods in Japanese history.
