Biography
Sharowat Shamin teaches law at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. She did her LLM in International Environmental and Energy Law from the University of Oslo, Norway with fully-funded Norwegian Government Quota Scheme Scholarship. Earlier she completed another LLM in International and Comparative Law and LLB (Honours) from the University of Dhaka. Her research interest lies in the fields of climate change and energy law, human rights, and constitutional law and she published several papers on
these topics.
Sharowat is a legal research team member of the Center for International Sustainable Development Law (CISDL) since 2013. Throughout her career, she has been engaged as a consultant at various national and international human rights NGOs. She is also an enrolled Advocate being permitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and also a member of Dhaka Bar Association since 2012.
