How to apply for short language courses
Booking your course
Enrolling from 23 February for our next courses starting 20 April (April-July term 2026)

Beginner
All complete beginners can book Beginners 1 courses directly via the online store. This will open from 23 February when we start enrolling for our April-July term 2026.
Not a beginner?
For Arabic, Chinese, Persian:
As you already have some language knowledge, to assess your level please request an informal language placement test with a Language Specialist who can advise on which class may be best for you. Please note that placement tests for our next 10-week term starting April 2026 will start when enrolment opens (from 23 February).
You can still fill in the placement test request in the meantime, however placement test bookings will only commence once enrolment has opened. You are advised to complete the request form as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
To request an placement test, please complete the relevant form:
- Arabic placement test request (MS form)
- Chinese placement test request (MS form)
- Persian placement test request (MS form)
For Japanese, Korean:

Once you have been recommended a class, you may enrol and pay in any of the following ways:
- Online - you will be sent a link to enrol via our online store.
- Bank transfer - please email the relevant language administrator who will then send bank transfer details.
For all other languages:
Students are required to first check their level using the course overview/structure information on the language short course pages.
You can book Beginners 1, Beginners 2 and Beginners 3 course levels via the online store once enrolment opens. Please note that students are responsible for checking their level prior to enrolling on any course.

Continuing students
Students enrolled in the current term will receive an email with a rejoining link to the next term of study.
